Medium size has a flap opening of 230mm wide by 330mm high and is suitable for Larger Cats and Medium Breeds of Dogs.

RANGER pet flaps by Freedom Pet Pass have a thick, insulated flap to reduce conductive heat loss, which is heat loss through material. Made for cold weather, the flap components will stay flexible and functional to -40 and below.

Recommendations

• Too Big is better than Too Small - if a dog has to squeeze through an opening, it can put dangerous strain on his or her back and legs
• Size for the tallest/largest pet - make a cardboard cut out for the largest pet door needed and consider using a step to allow smaller pets to use the flap (see the handy Pet Step Accessory which attaches to the door mount so you (humans) don't have issues with access
• Mount the pet flap up from the floor - to save the integrity of your door and allow your pet to use the pet door more naturally, the pet flap should be installed at a height that allows the pet to step through the flap. Remember that they will naturally duck their head to go through.
• Install at least 5cm higher than the withers (front shoulders) - so that there is enough space for the tallest pet to use easily and it will not put stress on their back or knees. 

Pet Door Dimensions

• Pet Opening (AKA Flap Opening) - The smallest opening through which your pet will pass through when using the pet flap. This are the dimensions used when properly sizing your pets for the correct sized pet flap
• Rough Opening - This is the hole size that you will need to make in your door to install the RANGER pet flap
• Frame Size - This is the overall height and width of the pet flap.

Cellular PVC Frame

Strong, weatherproof, and mold-resistant, and 3,000X more insulating than metal frames used on lower-end dog doors.

Rugged Flap System

The insulated flap system is made from premium materials for maximum energy-efficiency, pet safety, and durability. The flap has an insulating SBR rubber core, protected with marine-grade canvas on each side. The flap seal is made from thermoplastic polyolefin, a material also used for industrial roofing.

Locking Security Panel

All door-mounted RANGER dog doors include a locking security panel. The “up-and-in” insertion of the panel means no additional clearance is needed around the pet door.
